THE AROMA TAVERNA STUDIO AND APARTMENTS
The Aroma Taverna
Studios and Apartments are located at the bottom of the mountain on the
left hand side as you enter the resort of Stegna Beach.
Stegna
Beach has clear waters and is the perfect place to come to relax, as it
is peaceful, quiet and unspoilt with amazing views. Early in the morning
you can enjoy an amazing sunrise, which is truly breathtaking,
Stegna Beach is
part of Archangelos, which is one of the largest villages in Rhodes and
is located 30 kilometers from Rhodes Town and 15 Kilometers from Lindos.
It is ½ hour away from the Diagoras airport.
From Stegna it
is easy to visit other places as there is a line bus (which is orange
and yellow) everyday, which takes you into Rhodes Town and a free
community Bus (green) that will take you to Archangelos or Agathi Beach
and Tsambica Beach.
Alternatively you
can hire a car or a motorbike in Stegna
The Ancient name for Archangelos is Pontoria and the village was built
in the 7th Century AD its location was chosen to avoid attack
from the pirates
There are many
places of interest to visit such as the medieval castle, which was built
in the Middle Ages by the Venetians and is known as St George.
There are also
Churches from the Byzantine Era, which the local people keep in good
condition
Opposite from STEGNA Beach you can find a small Island which is called
St Nikolas and on it you will find the ruins of St Nikolas church which
dates back to the Middle ages
You can also
visit Petronas where you can find a small church surrounded by greenery
and also the Petronas Ceramic factories
The Greek people
are very friendly and you will find a warm welcome when you arrive. For
